Celebrity Erwan Heussaf blogs as The Fat Kid Inside. I don’t really know much about him except that he is a trained chef, he’s the Food Editor at Esquire Philippines (I think), he is boyfriend to actress Anne Curtis, and brother to Solenn Heussaff. But he didn’t land on my Reader because of those. I read about his nomination to Nuffnang Asia Pacific’s Blogger Awards last year so I checked out his blog. I wasn’t about to vote for him just because he is Pinoy. I wanted to do so out of real appreciation for his blog.

Yes, I voted for him. I also subscribed to his feeds (are you subscribed to mine?).

Recently, he started what he calls the Skill Shop. He has two posts for this category so far and I’ve Pinned them both.

I love that he shares videos and not just photos of his food/recipes. The focus of his videos is the process, and the food itself. You don’t even see him after his signature opening billboard. He’s got skills, this guy! So far, he has the best blog videos I’ve seen.

The food he shares are mostly healthy. He also talks a lot about exercise and living a balanced life. He trains and runs. That’s how he keeps the fat kid inside, and mister lean and healthy outside.

I kinda half-expect to him to be doing art or music too. I can imagine him with a Rogue Bass guitar, or maybe not. Maybe he’s the type who plays the violin, or the piano. A Classical music guy. He just seems like the type. A perfect guy really. Haha.

What I really really like about his blog? His writing style. He’s very easy to read. Not complicated. Doesn’t try to be funny. His topics, very relevant to me who is all fat outside.

People know that I can bake, but I don’t cook. Never really tried. So Erwan’s Skill Shop is something I appreciate, I really hope to learn a trick or two from it. Maybe I’ll try the Perfect Creamy Scrambled Eggs for brunch tomorrow. Maybe. <img style="border-bottom-style: none; border-right-style: none; border-top-style: none; border-left-style: none" class="wlEmoticon wlEmoticon-smile" alt="Smile" src="http://verabear.net/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/wlEmoticon-smile.png" / rel="lightbox[roadtrip]">

So long after first hearing about Jujucleanse, we are finally doing the Juju!

<img style="margin: 0px 10px 5px 0px" src="http://www.jujucleanse.com/images/bottles-splash2.jpg" width="545" height="253" / rel="lightbox[roadtrip]">

I’m on my 3rd bottle now, the Red Giant. I was hungry just in time for this one, but I took in a wee bit of bread. Earlier, it wasn’t so much as being hungry, but wanting to put something in my mouth. So like I said, this is my 3rd bottle for the day, and there are three more to complete the Level 1 (1-day) cleanse.

<strike>How am I doing so far?</strike>

The Green Bomb (1) tasted a lot like celery stalks, but it wasn’t so difficult to drink it up. The Spicy Limonada (2) was a little harder for me to finish. It was a tad too spicy for my tastes. It has cayenne pepper as an ingredient.

This third one, has beets, pineapple, carrots and ginger. I had expected it to be sweet, but the ginger triumphs over the other tastes. Finish it I will.

It’s recommended to drink lots of water too, and I need no more encouragement than the punishing heat. I am definitely drinking a lot of liquids today.

I am really hoping this cleanse boosts my metabolism, and jumpstarts my body to a healthier journey. Of course it matters what I put into it after cleansing.

Mom and I took advantage of the 10% discount offered by JujuCleanse. Promo ended the other day. It was easy to order, the fastest way is by texting them at 09175763012.

It’s basically a prune. What sets it apart then from the regular supermarket prunes? Hmm. I don’t know yet. But just checking on the packaging, it looks like these plums are enriched with Green Tea, probiotics, and Pu-er Tea. It supposedly provides a good source of fiber, and promotes healthy bowel movement (for detoxification).

I finally got to try one today – the recommended intake is only one plum per day.

It tasted okay. A little bigger and more chewy than your average prune. What’s the effect? Well, I took a dump soon after having lunch but I can’t really attribute that to the plum just yet. So we’ll see. What I do want to know is if it’s going to make me go more than once in a day. I can’t have that on work days, it would be too inconvenient. So I’ll continue to observe its effect on me today.

Each box contains 10 individually packed plum, and costs P940.00. Purchasing a box also automatically makes one a member of the organization that sells these – BWL group. If this works and really results to weight loss, I will definitely spread the word and sell these myself. When people come to buy their boxes and boxes of plums from me, they’d knock via our engraved door knocker which I would have bought by then just because we’re cool and all. Haha! <img style="border-bottom-style: none; border-right-style: none; border-top-style: none; border-left-style: none" class="wlEmoticon wlEmoticon-smile" alt="Smile" src="http://verabear.net/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/wlEmoticon-smile4.png" / rel="lightbox[roadtrip]">

Have you heard of this before? How do you find it?

So the latest ‘in’ thing to do is biking. Bike-riding for fitness, and for fun. My brother got himself a new bike:

It’s a second-hand bike he got for about 7000 pesos. He intends this to be Diane’s bike, as soon as he finds another one for himself. Alfred and I are looking to get bikes too.

Kuya’s friends go on bike trips already and someday maybe we can join them. For starters, we’ll bike around the area or around UP. Oh scratch that, for starters, we need to get bikes. It’s been decades since I was last on a bike, but I rode my bike everyday when I was a kid.

If I ever do get into serious biking, I wonder if I’d want those biker suits too? You know how I’d always go in the Nike store because I love their fitness wear for women, and how I admire looking at yoga apparel because they look so comfy for when your exercising. Would I feel the same about getting those figure hugging outfits that bikers use? Maybe not. Haha.

Maybe our friend Ruth is right (she’s gone biking with her husband too), I should make the investment for health. But these bikes are just so darn expensive. We saw bikes on sale at Greenhills last week but I don’t know if that will do. Maybe I’ll borrow this bike first and try it out.

If I were normal, or if I decided to commit to this last week, I should have started this morning (or last night, as my day really starts at nighttime). But since work schedule is in EST anyway, I’ll be taking the challenge on an EST calendar as well <img style="border-bottom-style: none; border-right-style: none; border-top-style: none; border-left-style: none" class="wlEmoticon wlEmoticon-smile" alt="Smile" src="http://verabear.net/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/wlEmoticon-smile1.png" / rel="lightbox[roadtrip]">

What is it you ask?

<img border="0" src="http://media-cdn.pinterest.com/upload/153615037259748973_21tBDf2e_c.jpg" width="553" height="717" / rel="lightbox[roadtrip]">

Why is this important to me?

This challenge is important to me because I need it badly. I have never been known to be punctual. I show up. But most times, I’m late. Sometimes I am early or on time, but it isn’t most times. And that’s not something I am proud of. I’ve actually come to accept that about me, but it isn’t a good trait so I want to change. And I need help to change, this might be it. When I die, I don’t want ‘the late…’ to be the biggest joke of all.

I know that the challenge isn’t about being punctual, but a good reason why I’m late for most things is because I don’t heed my own wake up call all the time. I’m in a love affair with the snooze button. An abusive love affair. So though the challenge may not make me punctual for every appointment I make, it will at least help set the tone for my day, and that’s good enough for me.

Also, one of my resolutions (trying to do a happiness project too, hehe) is ‘to have a bedtime’ and to ‘wake up early.’ Two resolutions. So this challenge will actually help me achieve at least three things: get to work on time, all the time, follow a bedtime schedule, and wake up early.

Why should I take the time?

Anything important is worth making time for. I will consider this an investment in time and effort, and the payoff will be big. Hopefully, I won’t even have to wait too long for the ROI. <img style="border-bottom-style: none; border-right-style: none; border-top-style: none; border-left-style: none" class="wlEmoticon wlEmoticon-smile" alt="Smile" src="http://verabear.net/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/wlEmoticon-smile1.png" / rel="lightbox[roadtrip]">

Why now and not later?

Now is good a time as any. Besides, my word for the year is Start.

Why will this help me?

This will help me in so many different levels, I can’t even begin to list them. But finding balance before my actual day starts is an exciting prospect. Most of the time, I am a zombie as I get ready to leave home, and while I drive to work. I get to my desk, I sit, and it takes me at least 15-20 minutes to warm up and get things in proper perspective. This challenge, for me, promises a new way to start the day. If successful, I can hit the ground running as soon as I arrive in the office.

Why should I not give up?

In some form or another, I have done a similar challenge and I stick to it for awhile but not see it through the end. I have had enough of that. I shouldn’t give up because life is too short. I will think of Papa, and take on this challenge as a tribute to him who always gets up early.

Are you in on the challenge?

One blog I started following via Google Reader recently is Shoot First, Eat Later.

Today, in this wonderful food/lifestyle blog, the author posted her breakfast meals, suitable for the Cohen Lifestyle.

Got me thinking about signing up for Cohen. It’ll cost a lot of money, but it might very well be worth it. I had read about this system in the papers maybe a month ago. It seemed interesting, more so because it boasts about a well-researched and tested system that analyzes a person’s blood make up to come up with meal plan suggestions. Because of this, the program is tailor-made for each individual. It is not to be shared, and there’s no mass-produced meals to be had. Each person will be given his/her daily requirements and restrictions.

For more info, check out their website.

I have at least three married friends trying to get pregnant this year, one is already a month or so into her first pregnancy. Soon, I’d have friends with hopefully bigger bellies than mine. Girlfriends looking pretty and sexy even in maternity clothing. My preggy friend, plus two others still trying are all diagnosed with PCOS, just like me. I think being on this new brand of lifestyle, might be my ticket to breaking free from PCOS. Though I’m not trying to conceive now, it might get me a step closer to that, eventually.

Have you heard of this? Any feedback you care to share?

I will have an early day at work tonight so I really should be getting some sleep (2 hours ago). But there’s these two sites I keep going back and forth to.

Jujucleanse.com

<img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; margin: 0px 10px 5px 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" border="0" src="http://www.jujucleanse.com/images/bottles-splash2.jpg" width="571" height="265" / rel="lightbox[roadtrip]">

Read reviews from I Am Super Bianca and Trip or Treats.

Can I survive a Juju Cleanse?

The other site is Ensogo for this Slimming Package at Bioessence Slimzone:

Yes, both have something to do with losing weight, although the first one is really about cleansing, and weight loss is just one of its effects. I am tempted to get both, but don’t know if I really want to pay for it!

But they complement each other don’t they? Hmm.. I’ve 30 hours to think about the Slimzone promo…

What do you think?
