Amir

How can anyone with a baby in the house do anything but gush over the baby? πŸ™‚

Amir’s just about three weeks old but we feel like he’s been around so long, he’s been integrated into everyone’s routine. Even Zune is used to having him around already. Zune’s reaction to Amir’s arrival deserves a whole post of its own. πŸ™‚

Here’s a photo of two of my favorite males of the species:

Say Hi! to my nephew Amir, and his Dad, my brother Vlad.

Beloved Prince

After much ado about baby names, my brother and his wife finally chose a name: Davin Amir. It means Beloved Prince. The name was chosen around the same time that our little angel was born into this world, at 1:24PM on the day before Christmas.

Davin is a Scandinavian name that, according to sites for baby names, means Beloved. Amir, on the other hand, has Middle Eastern origins and means Prince. We started to look into names that meant prince or ruler after learning that my brother’s name meant “renowned prince” or popular ruler, or also “to rule with greatness.”

He is the greatest blessing we have all received in 2010. For that, we look forward to a prosperous and an even happier 2011.

From our home to yours, Have a Happy and Safe New Year! πŸ™‚

Doesn’t he look so cute? At the rate we’d been shopping for him, we’d all be needing payday advances to get through until next payout! haha! πŸ™‚

4D Stills of The Baby Boy

Updates on my Hump Day post:

I went to my previous employer today but didn’t get everything done. The signatories for the clearance weren’t all there. I’d have to go back Monday night/Tuesday morning for IT clearance, and exit interview. From there we went to the clinic handling the pre-employment medical screening for the new company. Sadly, there was a long line of patients waiting to be seen and tested. In short, we didn’t stay. Clinic hours are 7am-7pm. I’ll go towards closing time on Monday instead.

Still no new ID for me. Good news is that my pimples have quite cleared out and the breakout seems to have subsided. Woot woot! So no unsightly pimples on my ID photo πŸ™‚ Also, no need to get acne gels anymore.

But what I’m really excited to show here are 4D stills of my nephew! My brother and sister-in-law have not locked in on a name for the Baby Boy yet, despite the many suggestions I threw at them last week. My brother’s name is Vladimir, and his wife is Diane. What do you suggest for Baby Boy?

He looks so much like his Dad on the first photo! And of course my Dad had to comment that if that were true, then it means Baby Boy looks like him too. Haha, not really. πŸ™‚ See the boxer stance on the second picture? He was even captured opening his mouth and moving around a bit. So cute! πŸ™‚

We’re all so excited to have you Baby Boy, see you soon! πŸ™‚

Busy Halloween

I’ve a busy afternoon to look forward to. After this quickie post (that feels more like a Twitter update), I will:

  • Wash lunch dishes
  • Bake cupcakes
  • Try two different frosting (both very new to me)
  • Buy ingredients for truffles
  • Checkout additional prizes for the Halloween party later
  • Prepare the place for the annual 99 19th Street Halloween revelry! πŸ™‚

This is the first year we’re having it on the 30th instead of the 31st. The kids have Trick-0r Treat around the seminary compound tomorrow evening, so they’re bound to have their regular fill of candies, goodies, and scary FUN! πŸ™‚

Once again, here are THE Halloween images from the past two years:

Is it too early for a Christmas Tree?

This is a preview of a beautiful wallpaper from Digital Blasphemy (click photo to get to his site)

Have you setup your Christmas tree? Will you have one this year? We’re probably. We haven’t put up a Christmas tree in years! I guess it’s mainly because kids don’t come up here too often anymore. But we used to get it out on the second week of December. My cousins still setup their big tree downstairs, so that’s where the gifts go every year πŸ™‚

I know at least one family who has their tree up already, not sure if they’ve had it up since September even πŸ™‚ Putting up the tree was always fun, as well as buying new trimmings each year. I wonder if we still have some of the old ones? I especially like small gift bags filled with toys! Hmm.

There was one time that we didn’t use any of the usual greenΒ artificial christmas trees that families here normally have. Β  I remember a year when we decorated one of our plans that grew a little taller than me, and didn’t have leaves. It really didn’t have leaves, it was just all stems and all green too. I’ll find a photo somewhere and share it someday. I think that was the year I got a pink bike. πŸ™‚
