We had work last night/today so everything was normal, no holiday for us. The only thing that seemed different was that it was windy and cloudy. There was no holiday vibe at all. The mall wasn’t even that full of people (my only reference is SM Cubao though). There didn’t seem to be any special Independence Day sale going on, no promo for all brand appliance parts, or back to school sales even. Or I might just have missed the signs.
I was trying to recall how I’ve spent this holiday in the past, hoping I did something meaningful. Sad to say I can’t remember anything. The most I could remember was looking forward to the fireworks for the Centennial celebration. How lame is that?
Maybe one project to add to my 101 list in 1001 (I’ll speak more about that pending project soon) would be to do something meaningful in commemoration of the country’s Freedom Day 2013 (and beyond).
What do you do to celebrate Independence Day?

I spent the holiday cleaning the house and preparing the school things of my son. It was just like any ordinary day except my husband was at home.

Sadly, I also celebrated Independence just like any ordinary day. And I do hope that day will come when events, shows including the media will spearhead an activity which will make us remember the measures our ancestors took to regain our freedom .

I celebrate by going to fireworks shows and remembering all those who gave their lives so our country could be free of the British.

I too did not do anything that day except sleep. Pregnancy is making me sleepy all the time so it was a good opportunity to just lay on my back and not do anything.

I saw my cousin’s photos in fb. In Australia, Filipinos celebrate Independence day like they have a party, program, presentation and even wearing national costumes. Shame on me, I didn’t do anything to commemorate independence day 2012.

We shouldn’t ba ashamed naman that we didn’t do anything special. Just a reminder for us to maybe find something significant for next year. 🙂

I’m not pregnant but I’ve been catching up on sleep a lot on my weekends, and when I get off work. Except today, medyo puyat na ko sa lagay na to 🙂

Well, everybody deserves some down time, pregnant or not. It’s our bodies’ way of telling us to slow down and take a breather. Kaya ayos lang matulog kung free time. 😀
