I have a lot on my mind. The elections and all the issues around it. The candidates and their credentials. Work. Some people. The quality of my life and what the future holds. Dahil sa kakaisip, wala akong maisulat.
For lack of a better post, here’s a photo of my nephews Adam and Esban. This was taken when we went to see How to Train Your Dragon on 3d.
Adam wasn’t looking at the camera (phone), I noticed that he usually does that. In contrast, Esban loves having his photo taken.
On Monday, I shall cast my very first vote. Yes, this year is the first time I’m exercising my right to suffrage. 10 years delayed from when my first time should have been.
It’s only four days away, yet I am undecided as to who to vote for.
When people ask me about it, I say that Noynoy seems to be who I’m defaulting to. Yet that just doesn’t feel right. He does seem to be credible, I do not doubt his integrity and his genuine interest in leading the Filipino people. But I am not fully convinced that he has what it takes to take us from where we are to where we want to be. I just don’t see that he has the credentials to merit the ultimate promotion.
But who does?
I’m leaning towards Gibo, though Gordon is another popular choice in my circle. The boyfriend is voting for Gordon. Grandpa’s for Gibo. My parents are for Noynoy.
Choosing the next president is a huge responsibility. I may have only one vote, but I’m going to make it count.
Nakakaloka. This nation has gone through so much, we’ve been raped and abused time and again. It’s come to a point where change in government doesn’t really mean change. Yes, it’s a transition of power, but it’s just from one villain to the next. It is high time we build up this country, heal its wounds and will it to rise up from the ruins. But it is no easy task. It isn’t like signing up for credit cards for bad credit at all. I mean you can’t fix a problem by just patching ’em up with quick fixes. You can’t solve your credit issues by dipping yourself in even more credit. You know what I mean? We can’t say that we’ve had enough of a corrupt government, only to send other corrupt officials to power.
Whoever wins though, I hope that Pinoys remain as political as they seem to be now.
I just saw the latest episode of Glee, just in time for the next one coming out Tuesday night. Though the title is Home and the sub-plots talk about finding your comfort zone, or keeping yourself grounded (once you find it, that is), to me it was more about Glee kids growing up.
Start with April Rose whose duets with Mr. Schue were just amazing. In the end, she realizes that she’s worth more than what she gives herself credit for. I hope that this time, she really sobers up. And that she comes back for more episodes once she truly cleans up her act.
There’s Finn who, after awhile, starts to understand what her mom is going through. He seems open to supporting her in what might finally make her happy. Of course, Kurt isn’t too happy about the budding relationship not between his dad and Finn’s mom, but between Finn and his dad. He feels as if Finn is the son that his dad never had. I don’t see it that way though. Kurt’s dad seems to be the most sensitive macho guy. He truly loves Kurt, and doesn’t mean to replace him with Finn.
Then there’s Quinn, who realizes something really important: that if she was willing to eat right for the sake of her baby, that she should do so for herself. She helps Mercedes realize that she shouldn’t allow someone else decide what she eats and how she feels about herself.
Beautiful was a very fitting choice for Mercedes’ solo.
Glee has so far really been sending the right messages. I love that, even though they are portraying these kids as wanting to fit in and be popular, they are emphasizing the truth that they can’t let others bring them down. They are beautiful not because they are popular, or that they are amazingly talented even. They are beautiful first because they believe themselves so.
I missed Idol last week, but thanks to a friend on FB, I get to listen to Lee’s wonderful rendition of You’re Still The One. Could be better than the original 🙂 It’s the same feeling I got when I heard David Cook’s Always Be My Baby.

I keep going back to DPS to check this out. But I don’t make the purchase, or at least I haven’t.
Yesterday’s baking session really helped take me out of the rut I seemed to have been in last week. They turned out yummy! And they’re all gone, haha. Photos coming soon 🙂
The boyfriend is more excited than I am about getting a D90. I think we’re going to call it Deena. Or something like that. Maxine will be his.
I have cable and broadband payments due tomorrow, and loan payments due on Friday. When’s my credit card bill due again? I just realized that I wasn’t able to post about an important event! Last week, I zeroed my credit card outstanding balance. Seriously, I was debt free for a day. Haha. I used my card the next day though at the MOA sale. It wasn’t a big purchase, I’d be able to pay all of it off come due date 🙂 I swear BDO won’t be getting any extra fees out of me anymore. Zero interest!
What do you need colon cleanse products for? Like, what do liver supplements really do for your liver? Just asking.
Why is it so easy for some people to lose weight while it’s so difficult for me? Skinny people get skinnier doing nothing; I lose zero pounds even on a diet. Nah, I’m just bitter.
