Safari!

Today I was going through my Picture library looking for any photo that distinctly featured a human face and flowers together in one frame. I was using Windows Live Photo Gallery to go through the albums, and then my attention was caught by the nifty button to create a movie out of the photos. So I used it.

And what photos did I use? Those from our Safari adventure!

(This video I just uploaded doesn’t look good! It’s all pixellated. I’m going to try again and then re-upload.)

No, we didn’t go to Africa for this, nor did we drive out to Subic to experience their Zoobic Safari. This is the Safari display of stuffed animals at the SM Sky Garden, at SM City North Edsa. It’s still there until now, if I’m not mistaken.

Ugh, I think my dad chose the hottest day this summer to take the kids there. Or not. Maybe it just felt like the hottest day for me because

  1. I just came off a 12-hour shift.
  2. It was freezing cold inside the office.
  3. I was quite sleepy; and,
  4. I was wearing heels.

The kids definitely weren’t complaining about the heat. Dad even looked quite comfy.

You know, I’m not sure if they asked me to come along because they needed another chaperone (Mom couldn’t join them because she had a meeting), or they really needed a photographer. Hmmm.

The kids were all willing subjects, okay maybe with the exception of Adam who doesn’t always feel like smiling at the camera, but they all were very eager to post in front of the stuffed animals. I, however, was one frustrated photographer. I wasn’t dressed appropriately. And because of my weight, I wasn’t willing to kneel or able to sit on the floor to get better angles. Tsk. I gotta do something about that. Hehe.

Anyway, here are a few of my favorite photos:

Ann’s Lucky Plant Series

The other day, my colleague Ann showed me her lucky plant which had new growth. She thought I’d be interested to take photos, and she was right. 🙂 I’d been taking photos of it every day though I haven’t posted them yet, until now.

This plant is one of three small ones that sit on top of her desk. I think she wipes the dust off its leaves from time to time.

On Friday, an accomplice kidnapped the plant for me so I could take more pictures:

I used my macro filter for this shot.

Before I returned the plant to Ann’s desk this morning, I took another photo:

Do you notice any change? 🙂

Dino – Rawrrr!

You met him yesterday, the green dino that came free with my Photojojo purchase. I did mention that you’d see him more right?

Brought him to work with me, and while on break, snapped these:

There’s more, but I’ll leave those for another day. Oh, and there was another dino that I took photos of. I just have to get him to sign a release before I display his photos publicly. Haha. 🙂

Ginger’s here!

I was excited to get to work because I knew, my bag would be there! It wasn’t until got back home though that I was able to fully appreciate Ginger, and all the other goodies I got today.

It came in this big blue bag, wrapped in plastic. The plastic wasn’t intact anymore, which was okay. Ingrid had to check it out and pack it in her bags too (thank you so much for doing this for me girlfriend!).

Here’s the sticker on the plastic packaging. I think this is going to be my photo for the day, my 7/365:

Taking out of the blue bag, you’ll see Ginger in her dark chocolate goodness, and all those blue stuff is what you can use to make compartments inside the bag. You’re free to configure them according to your needs. It comes with a detachable strap that let’s you sling the bag across your body, for convenience while shooting. And see that cute bag charm? Love it.

Inside the pockets, I found these two cards: Epiphanie cards. They’re a source of inspiration. You could keep it or pass it on.

“If you have built castles in the air, your work need not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put foundations under them” – Henry David Thoreau

“Whatever you do, or dream you can, begin it. Boldness has genius and power and magic in it.” – Johann Von Goethe

I love my bag already, I’ve arranged it and it’s ready to go with me to work tonight. 😀 I’d like to give a shout out to Madeline of support over at Epiphanie Bags, she really helped me with my questions and even went the extra mile to make sure my package would be delivered in time. Thanks Madeline, you rock! 🙂

But Ingrid didn’t just receive one package for me. There’s a second one:

Yup, I ordered the Photojojo book and added two seatbelt camera straps! Thank you Suman (who uses the signature Mom-in-Chief & Photojojo Customer Support in her emails) for helping me with my questions, and changing my order so I get two different color straps instead of just one. I love Photojojo! 🙂

These purchases definitely made a dent in my budget but they’re well worth it. Everything’s coming out from my online earnings, I don’t have to sell my timeshare as some would say (okay, I don’t have one but I do have a condo that I’m renting out, does that count? Lol). 🙂 I’m not going to be doing any online shopping anytime soon…

Oh, did you notice the green dinosaur? They just added that in free, a totally pleasant surprise! I think he’s going to be the subject of many photo shoots 🙂 Okay, he wins. He’s today’s photo for Project 365. Rawrrr!

Missing Photos

My Project 365 for 2010 has crashed. I knew I missed taking photos on some days, but the greatest blow is that I can’t find some of the photos I downloaded from the camera on to the PC. At least they’re not important photos, I mean, they weren’t from any important occasions, but they were everyday photos that I was just now looking for because I wanted to blog about them.

Now they’re gone.

I can’t tell whether the mistake is mine or someone else’s. For all I know, I could have forgotten to actually download them and then just went ahead to delete the photos in my camera. Or, I might have downloaded them but saved them somewhere else. Or, someone might have downloaded new photos and accidentally overwrite them. Sometimes the photos are just named numbers instead of Month-Year-Number and it messes things up if that happens.

In a way this is an eye-opener for me. I should definitely get to organizing my photos, and get an online backup system up and running. Besides, one reason that got me derailed from P365 was that I wasn’t uploading daily. If I’m to restart 365 by April 1st, I gotta start cleaning my act up, er cleaning up my files. Once I get that cleared, I might just be able to digiscrap again. Might.
