Bag Lust

I’ve had this book marked for a week or so, and today I just had to check it again and finally come out and admit it – I have bag lust! Doesn’t help that the seller was featured on a local show on cable – Shop Talk.

I don’t really travel that much but I love big bags and this is even more appealing because there’s that outside pocket perfect for a camera. And it’s unisex too! If I heard the business owner/designer correctly, this is made from wool and leather. Locally made. And the inside looks delish too!

It’s available in three color combinations.

Now this second bag is more affordable and a lot more colorful:

The bag is called Venus and it’s a bucket bag made of canvas and synthetic leather. This one’s by another small local business, Sinude. I just discovered her today via the same show and I already love her. I am eyeing this all-leather (locally sourced) beauty too:

If you’re out looking for gifts for a teenage girl or a grown woman, checkout the bags from these two local sellers.  As for me, well, I went through March without any major shopping extravaganza so maybe I can give myself a gift of a new bag this April. Hmm…

Louis Phillip Kee Salon recently opened its branch at the Bohol Mansion, Sgt. Esguerra, in the vicinity of the ABS-CBN studios. I’d never think of simply walking into such a posh salon for fear of having to burn a hole in my wallet, but thanks to Deal Grocer, soon I will!

Deal Grocer Louis Phillip Kee Salon

With an estimated savings of 255 pesos off the original price for a woman’s haircut, it was already a great deal. However, since I paid via Paypal, at current exchange rates, I only paid 330 pesos. Smile What makes it even a better deal for me is that I’m using blogging money for a much-needed trip to the salon, so it’s not coming off my savings. Sweet!

I have not had a haircut since September 2010. Yes, it has been that long. My excuse was severe hair-fall due to hormonal problems. Well maybe they’ll be able to give me hair care tips at the salon when I visit. One of my favorite bloggers, Frances at Topaz Horizon, is a regular of Louis Phillip Kee Salon but at another branch. She’s mentioned them a few times on her blog and I’ve always wondered about checking them out, soon I will! Smile

I got a Retro Phone!

I had no intention to go shopping over the weekend, all I had planned was to accompany the boyfriend for his shopping outing. He intended to buy pants and a couple of shirts. His mall of choice: The Megamall.

We initially intended to leave early (we were up very early on Sunday morning and watched ‘Real Steel’ in bed), but Amir happened. By that I meant, he ruled our morning and we just couldn’t leave as soon as we wanted. And we also had our mid-morning nap. Plus my Dad prepared Sunday lunch and I didn’t want to leave home and miss that. Smile

So anyway, we ended up arriving at the mall at around 5PM. We’d been to Mrs. Howard’s for a bite, and then a long queue at Megamall’s Parking Building C. It was a nightmare! I won’t ever park in that building again. It is poorly designed. Plus there was this dude who dared take my slot from me! I guess all that delay made me even more pumped up for a visit to Forever21. Yes, I was once again at my favorite store! Checkout my loot from the first visit.

So I guess you already know where this is going. The boyfriend knew it before I did, but I was really there to shop for myself SmileThese are what I came home with:

Looks familiar? Yes, it’s pretty much the same as my first F21 skirt that also happens to be my favorite. I know this one will be another favorite. I love it!

Now what about this open cardigan with crochet trim? I was drawn to it when I saw it. I love that it is black AND colorful.

I wanted to try on some sparkly blouses and a dress, but maybe now’s not the time for those. I don’t any events they’d be appropriate for anyway. But next time.

And of course, I wouldn’t leave that store without a stash of lovely accessories!

No dangling earrings this time. Smile

As F21 was our first stop, the department store was next. Sadly, Alfred didn’t find anything that he liked so it really ended up being my shopping day. We didn’t leave SM without picking this up though:

I bullied Alfred into getting me this Retro Phone, on sale for only PhP 399.75 for SM Advantage customers. Got him convinced it’s be a most appreciated post-Valentine’s gift. It’s available in all SM malls and comes in a variety of colors. I was tempted to get the pink one, but the red one was calling to me too. They have it in dark blue and yellow too. It is lightweight and if you already bring a bag everywhere, it won’t take up too much space (be creative!).

I first saw this handset at the Dimensione, but it is way pricier there, so this was a good deal.  I’d been using it for my phone calls today and I even hooked it up to my work PC to listen to calls in lieu of speakers/earphones.

What a day it was. So much shopping done in under 2 hours. Of course I could have bought a new computer cabinet instead, or saved the money for our bike fund, but isn’t this more fun? Smile

Suesh at Deal Grocer

This 7-pc Limited Edition Holiday Make-Up Brush Set is available at Deal Grocer.

Suesh@dealgrocer

If I actually put on make up, or even knew how to put on makeup, I’d grab this deal. But I don’t know much about make-up. Sure I know something about lipsticks and glosses, and maybe a thing or two about eyelash enhancer, but really not much else.

Suesh has a good reputation for quality tools, and the discount of 900 pesos is a really good deal. I intend to learn how to do make up some time in 2012, but I will sadly have to pass off on this one for now. I’ve told myself countless times not to buy anything I won’t use right away. Since I won’t be using these brushes anytime soon, the savings from the purchase might not really be savings for me at all. But it doesn’t mean you have to let this deal pass on, you can have it. Click through if you want this set!

So learning to do makeup is just one of the things I want to accomplish in 2012. I haven’t really thought about making a list of resolutions for the coming new year, but flipping through the BDJ 2012 planner got me thinking about my goals.

Gretchen Rubin of The Happiness Project posted 6 questions you should ask yourself when you’re making New Year’s resolutions. Check those out as you ponder your own list. I know I had to change mine so there’ll be more concrete action. Leave me a link if you’ve listed your 2012 Goal List, or Resolutions! Thanks! Smile

Incomplete Gift List

Tonight is my last workday for the week, also the last one before Christmas. I’d be bringing the ‘generic’ gifts I got for some people. I really wished I was more creative and picked out something special for each person, but it won’t be so this year. Oh well.

Until now I keep thinking about getting something for all my reps too. I thought I had a brilliant idea last month and perhaps I should have got them then because now, I don’t think it’s so brilliant after all. Haha. Perhaps I’ll get them some food and give each a handwritten note on a card. Hmm, that’s something personal.

I had thought of getting custom lanyards for them but that didn’t come to fruit, either. I would have our LOB names printed on it, but I heard there’s a minimum order and since I handle two small LOBs and two teams of yet another one, what I need for each design won’t be enough for the minimum.

I’m using beaded lanyards now, an agent gave it to me. You can see part of it here:

Photo Dec 22, 7 59 38 PM

Pardon my vanity shot – my eyebags look awful! I was only trying to take a photo of my new earrings that day. Smile

So there’s something attached to the beads that allowed me to also attach a badge reel at the end. I’ve been using the pair for months, but today I took it off because the reel isn’t working anymore. Bummer.

Oh, because my lanyard looks pretty, I don’t mind keeping it on even outside of the office. Just like wearing a necklace without worrying about it being stolen or snatched away.

I’m also still thinking of another gift for someone special. I’ve set my sights on something but I’m still having second thoughts because of the cost. With just one day left and then it’s the 24th, I don’t think I’ll be completing my gift list this year. I can always just send more donations for Sendong, and then name it for the person I would have bought a gift for but couldn’t. A donation in their name is a good gift for people who already have everything.
