October Comments and Top EC

So October is over and I’ve only logged 103 comments. That’s 30 comments lower compared to end of September stats. Hmm. This time, I blame it on the truffles πŸ™‚ But that’s okay. There’s always next month, and the new ticker is up too πŸ™‚

I wonder how many comments my October Top Commenter on Where the Moon Shines did? Well, it’s a total of 14 comments on this blog, and how many comments on other people’s blogs I wonder? Well wonder no more, and wander all you can, for October’s Top Commenter is none other than, Joanne/Zoan!

Thanks Z! πŸ™‚

And now, time to thank my Top Droppers for Entrecard too. It’s interesting how this month list compares to September’s. I’ve got mostly new badges to show this time around! Wow, thanks for dropping your cards and commenting too:)

I’ve purchased ad space from your blogs via EC already. Thank you again!

So we’re off to start a new month. Looking forward to anything new this month? Well I am. I’m starting at a new company on Monday, and it’s bound to be an adventure!

Busy Halloween

I’ve a busy afternoon to look forward to. After this quickie post (that feels more like a Twitter update), I will:

  • Wash lunch dishes
  • Bake cupcakes
  • Try two different frosting (both very new to me)
  • Buy ingredients for truffles
  • Checkout additional prizes for the Halloween party later
  • Prepare the place for the annual 99 19th Street Halloween revelry! πŸ™‚

This is the first year we’re having it on the 30th instead of the 31st. The kids have Trick-0r Treat around the seminary compound tomorrow evening, so they’re bound to have their regular fill of candies, goodies, and scary FUN! πŸ™‚

Once again, here are THE Halloween images from the past two years:

Is it too early for a Christmas Tree?

This is a preview of a beautiful wallpaper from Digital Blasphemy (click photo to get to his site)

Have you setup your Christmas tree? Will you have one this year? We’re probably. We haven’t put up a Christmas tree in years! I guess it’s mainly because kids don’t come up here too often anymore. But we used to get it out on the second week of December. My cousins still setup their big tree downstairs, so that’s where the gifts go every year πŸ™‚

I know at least one family who has their tree up already, not sure if they’ve had it up since September even πŸ™‚ Putting up the tree was always fun, as well as buying new trimmings each year. I wonder if we still have some of the old ones? I especially like small gift bags filled with toys! Hmm.

There was one time that we didn’t use any of the usual greenΒ artificial christmas trees that families here normally have. Β  I remember a year when we decorated one of our plans that grew a little taller than me, and didn’t have leaves. It really didn’t have leaves, it was just all stems and all green too. I’ll find a photo somewhere and share it someday. I think that was the year I got a pink bike. πŸ™‚

Self Promo

Thanks again for coming by Where the Moon Shines. But do you know that I hang out elsewhere too?

Have you seen my Lo Fi photos? Check the rest of this set out at The Newbie Photographer.

Have you read a book lately? I blogged about a book I’ve read recently, Scarlet Feather. Check my other book reactions at Between the Covers.

Truffles assembly line

Business is really doing well. My best-selling truffles are being ordered both at my office, and at Alfred’s. I can hardly keep up with them, even with Alfred assisting me with making them. So last night, we were talking about getting someone to help us. Maybe my cousin or her daughter can help and we’d set up a truffles assembly line, lol. But what takes a lot of time to do is coating each ball in chocolate and Alfred doesn’t want to outsource that. He doesn’t even want to do it himself, haha.

But here we are thinking of ways to make the work more efficient. On TV there was a feature on how the Sofitel pastry kitchen does their special truffles. Looks like they have molds and stuff for those. We’ll try to setup a cooling rack (once I get one) over a pan, place the oreo balls on them, then pour the chocolate. Then figure out how to coat the bottom. The choco that goes to the pan can be melted again so it won’t be wasteful. Sounds like a plan.

It feels really good when you’ve got people complimenting your product. And I appreciate each one of them, specially my frequent buyers. There’s one who said that these balls are so sinful, and acne-inducing. Haha! My advice to avoid having to take acne pills and still enjoy this chocolatey goodness? Share it. Don’t eat all 15 pcs all by yourself. Or take two each day and save the rest for later. Or you can always flush it with water. Or you can give up other oily foods and sweets on the week that you’re eating my oreo truffles. πŸ™‚
