Personally, I don’t have any need to disguise my voice on the phone. I am not screening calls. Or rather, I can screen them if they call via my cellphone. People who are looking for me don’t have much choice anyway, we don’t have landline phone at home anymore.
If I were trying to collect from people who owe me money, I’d probably use a voice changer. Not to disguise myself or anything, but to change the pitch and tone. I tend to sound too nice on the phone, and well, successful collectors aren’t exactly the nicest people to talk to are they? 🙂 Maybe using a voice changing solution is the answer to my team’s dwindling CSAT scores. I have agents who tend to sound curt or very passive on the phone. I wonder if the mechanism can be tweaked so the voice will automatically sound lively and supportive? It will no doubt give off the impression that the rep is very attentive to the caller.
But I guess that would be cheating.
I hear there are also portable voice changers that would most probably be compatible with most cellphones. Like I’ve already said, I don’t have a need for it, but it might be fun to just change the way you sound every once in awhile. I could imagine the boyfriend being shocked to hear a manly voice pick up my phone, or if it’s not possible to switch from female to male, I still think he’d immediately end the call as soon as he hears a strange voice. Hehe.
Remember my plans of launching a new blog, this time centered on health topics? Well, I’ve already selected a domain for it, but it’s taking time to get it ready. Okay, I’m taking time to get ready. I only really started prepping it today.
I won’t reveal the domain yet, but it’s something that will be easy to remember, and may have multiple meanings. Because of my domain selection, I now envision the new blog to be not just about my personal health, but also about the health of the community, and of the Earth in general. So it might actually shape up to be a health blog + a green blog as well (whatever that means!). 🙂
Please don’t expect blog posts on weight loss pills that work just yet although who knows, I might actually get to do a real review of those in the future. I will blog about some health supplements that I am currently taking, and those that I have also tried out in the past. In time, I hope to talk about exercise and walking for fitness. That is, if I ever become passionate about adding more movement to my sedentary lifestyle.
So. Though I really hoped to have posted a reveal for my new baby today, let me just tell you instead of a new money making site that I signed up for. Note that I make no claims to the legitimacy of the site, although I have not found any post or info contesting the same. As far as I can tell, the people behind the site are up front in saying that you can’t really use any of the money you are supposed to be earning NOW just yet, because cash out won’t be available until the service has fully launched in December 2011. They do seem to be brewing a way for you to somehow use that money lying around in your account in a few months. What’s good about the site is that at this stage, it does not require you to provide any personally identifiable information apart from your email address, a username and a password. They don’t ask for your bank account, or your Paypal details. There’s also no software to download. In my opinion, it is harmless to sign up now and get the $50 dollar bonus added to your account balance. You don’t need to spend a lot of time on the site either. There are a few surveys to answer and you may earn from that. I hear that simply logging on to the site helps you accumulate cents.
Simply put, I see no risks for signing up at this time. If after a few days you decide that it’s a waste of time, then you can simply forget about it. But do check it out. What am I talking about? PayBox! That is my referral link, and joining from there earns me $5 per referral. Just click the link and check it out, do not feel obliged to sign up unless you’re really interested. 🙂
Okay, enough about these shameless plugs. Tomorrow, I shall post more food photos! 🙂
Since the iPad already came with its own email client, I didn’t have to search for an alternative email app. Otherwise, I would have just used Safari to check my mails. I find that my Internet usage on the iPad is different from how I spend my time online on my PC. When online though (when within range of a Wifi network), you can bet that I’d be checking mail, or launching my most used App:
TweetDeck for iPad:

It looks just the same way as it does on my PC. It also allows preview of images and pages linked to from the tweets. Only downside is that it crashes sometimes and I haven’t been able to ascertain the reason.
Flight Control HD

I think I’m addicted to this game! My highest score is only about 143 aircrafts landed. I wonder if there are other maps available in the game?
Angry Birds

I have seen Angry Birds mentioned a lot on my Twitter feed from people who’ve had their iPads before me. It’s a pretty challenging game, haha. 🙂
Diner Dash: Grilling Green

Playing Diner Dash on the iPad was a lot more fun than using a mouse on the PC. I can imagine how Cake Mania would be like 🙂 I finished the entire game already.
I also use Safari to get on Facebook and other sites but there’s this other app that can be used for tabbed browsing. Ma plays Plants Vs. Zombies on there too but I haven’t tried it. The Farmville app I have crashes, I haven’t had any luck launching it. I have FreeBooks and iBooks but haven’t read an ebook just yet. Marvel is a wonderful app to have too, it’s a different comics experience. Love it! 🙂
My iPad’s loaded with so many other apps, including two recipe boxes, that I don’t feel I’ve maximized it yet in the week that I’ve had it. No worries though, I’m just taking my time. This girl’s not about to get tired of her toy just yet. 🙂
Do you have an iPad? What’s your most used app yet? What’s your favorite?
I should seriously hit the sack. Sunday is the new Monday and I have to get back to work in a few hours.
Work.
I can think of so many other things to do on a Sunday:
Go to Church (haven’t attended Sunday Mass in a looooong time)
Photo Shoot
Sleep
Bake flourless chocolate cake (or learn to)
Meet up with a friend or two
Get on my iPad
That last one is a BIG threat. Hahaha. I must stay away from the iPad unless I really want to be a zombie at work tomorrow due to lack of sleep. 😀
This weekend was a good one. I had an afternoon with my girlfriends, there was some drama, yes, but I had a wonderful time catching up. After picking up the iPad on Saturday (again thanks to my cousin who bought it for me from the Apple SG store, and her friend who carried it home), I also got to drop by to see another girlfriend who wasn’t able to join us on Friday). We had a super brief chat because my dad was waiting in the car for me, and she was having her nails done at The Barbershop in Project 4. Â I realized later that I should’ve just asked Dad to leave me there so I could get a foot spa; I could have taken a cab home anyway.
But in a few hours, I have to face work again, and I’d have to focus. We’ll see if I’d be able to accomplish much on my first work day for the week. The soonest I can get things done, the more time I have and less pressure to finish by the end of the week. The good thing about working directly with agents again is getting to talk to them about their plans, and for some, even their hopes and dreams. Learning about their background and what they like doing outside of work, or what they intend to do with their lives, is something I look forward to. Knowing their motivations takes a lot of time, but as managers we need to have an idea. I was talking to one agent last week and was surprised to hear that he studied to be a nurse. If he gets tired of the call center industry, he can switch to healthcare jobs. He doesn’t seem interested at this time though, because he’ll have to do volunteer work at first and re-train before he can get a paying job. Oh well.
So I gotta go sleep, while there’s still time for it. 🙂
