Ramblings and Brain farts

Page Rank and SEO

I really used to not care so much for page rank and SEO rankings. But it’s been several months already and verabear.net is still PR0. There must be something wrong. I’ve seen WordPress templates tagged as SEO friendly but I don’t really know what that means. Is there anything I can do, or a plugin I can use that will help me to raise my PR?

I am not losing sleep on this. I still blog mainly for personal reasons, earning from my blogs are only secondary. Still, it wouldn’t hurt to have bragging rights for high PR right?

My blue skies and chocolate retreat

So I am quite psyched about the unit improvement, can you tell? I’ve like posted about it how many times in the past several days? Hehe 🙂 The sad thing though is that I can’t really own the idea for the design because I will have to take budget into consideration. And I still won’t be living there anyway, so we’ll just have it look ready enough to be rented out.

If I could really have my way about it (or if I was really planning on moving in), I’d choose between having the kitchen area expanded, or just have a home theater feel to the entire unit itself. I mean, there’s got to be space for my oven (which is getting to be farther and farther from my reach), and then ample space for everything else, including a big table. Right? So there’d just be the kitchen, and then the bedroom. If there are guests, there’ll be comfy seating around the dining table.

home-theater-sconceOr, like I said, we’d take the existing kitchen area but have no dining table; there’d still be a partition for the bedroom, and then the rest of the space would be a home theater. This wouldn’t be my first option because I don’t have money for the equipment anyway. I mean, what’s a home theater without an HDTV LCD/Plasma screen, or projection TV, and bad ass speakers? Ahh. But I saw these home theater sconces that are really quite cute to have. Okay I changed my mind, even if I don’t end up with a home theater, having maybe two sconces like this would create drama for the room wouldn’t it? The contract with the designer includes additional lighting fixtures, maybe we could choose something like this? Although I think what she really meant was lighting fixtures on the ceiling, so I’d probably have to pay extra just to have something like this installed.

The designer said that we can choose the additional fixtures ourselves, I think she actually meant that we’ll have to buy them and then just give it to them for installation. I don’t have a concrete idea of it yet, perhaps we’ll know more on Wednesday. That’s just two days away! She mentioned that she’ll have something for us to take home, the design rendering, to look at. Haha 🙂

Christmas Presents

I still have not picked out a gift for my agents. I want to give something to my former agents that I left back at the 7th floor (after all their wonderful performance this year has paved the way for my monthly bonuses for me), as well as something for my 16 new kids (who are seriously challenging my abilities at this point). But I don’t actually have a bayong full of cash to spend for this, you know? Last year, I got cute bear cellphone charms for each of my agents, I attached them to these cute Christmas cards I printed out.

When we were at Greenhills a few days ago, I saw some cute stuff that would be awesome to give away. There’s this item we saw in Quiapo too that would make a nice present.  Ijust don’t know when we could go back and finally make a choice. I’m tempted to get some small items that are normally used for promotional business gifts, but instead of having them stamped/printed with a business name, I’d have our team name and logo printed all over the stuff. That way, I’d be able to give them presents, and boost team spirit too!  Haha 🙂

I also don’t have anything for mom and dad yet. Dad showed me a pair of trainers he’d love to have. Only, I don’t want to indulge him. Hehe. I’d probably check with Kuya so we can just put our budget together for their presents.

Ma will take care of shopping for the rest of the kids in the family. If they don’t finish today, Alfred and I would probably shop for more on Tuesday/Wednesday.

Quality Coaching

For December Week 2 (which ended Saturday noon) I didn’t meet my monitoring allocation. Bummer. I’ve always been proud of the quality of my coaching sessions with my agents. For the past eight or nine months this year, I’ve had the perfect situation because I only had a handful of agents and I was always a hundred percent with getting them covered in terms of monitoring their sessions, and coaching them on all of the other things they should be aware of as employees of the company.

That’s what I sought out to do with my new team. The thing is, I have more than twice as much agents, and I need to monitor and upload about four times more than I used to. I also need to backtrack a lot to have the best picture of their performance as I could get. Many, if not all of them, are in dire need of some TM love and affection. Haha. Seriously, they have a lot of potential that’s just waiting to be released.

I just can’t help but feel that I may not be focusing on the right things, at this point in time.

To be honest, I was so busy the past week I am disappointed that I still didn’t meet target. I don’t take breaks, and take my lunch so late in the shift already (or not at all). Still, I fell short. That’s not very encouraging.

But I can’t allow myself to dwell on that. I have to look and move forward. And you can bet your ass that I will.

Blue skies and Chocolate

That’s going to be the colors on our condo unit. We met with the designer again yesterday and that’s what we agreed on. Blue would be the main colour (a nice light and bright tone) and there would be chocolate accent walls.

Can’t wait to go back there on Wednesday to see the renderings and mock up 🙂

New Dashboard

Guess what just got a new dashboard? No, it’s not just XboX with it’s New Xbox Experience that was released a month ago. WordPress just looked even better 🙂 I just upgraded to 2.7 a few minutes ago and I like how it looks. No issues with the latest version so far.

In less than 5 hours I’ve got to be back at work. I should really go to sleep now.

First, I had to stay after hours at work because I didn’t finish everything that I needed done. Bummer. Then, my brother and I had to go back to San Benissa to approve the quote from the designer and pick out the layout and the colors for our units. That was fun, but really was a bit of an inconvenience.

Finally, I had to do some more work when I got home. Sadly, some of the stuff I had to submit, were late. So I’m totally not happy about that.

Okay, I just realized that I’m not coherent. Yet another sign that I should just stop – perhaps not even push Publish. Ack, you know I will click on that blue button!

Unit Improvements at San Benissa

We were at San Benissa this noon, and we spoke to their in-house designer regarding the possibilities for unit improvement. The developers, Phinma Properties, have a holiday promo that will allow unit owners to have their units beautified for less than usual. Plus there’s an assurance that the job will be finished at minimal or no loss at all to the unit owner, because Phinma will take care of the contractors and everything else that that entails.

The designer Irene, was refreshing to speak too. She’s very up-key and enthusiastic.

There were four of us on this visit, my brother and Diane, Alfred and myself.

The village management group now have their offices at the Clubhouse, and there is already an operational badminton/basketball court there. Looks like there’s also a gym at the second floor.

There’s a Christmas tree and other decors at the reception area of our building/cluster, and boy were there a lot of kids’ bikes under the stairs! Haha 🙂 Every visit I make I am more convinced of what Liza mentioned: that the people in our cluster are very active. There are also a lot of kids there. I like that in a way, it gives the place a very homey feel.

We took a  few pictures with Frankie. Sadly, we forgot our trusty little point and shoot digicam. So no new pictures today.

It was drizzling and so it was extra cool there this afternoon – just the kind of weather I like.

Anyhoo, it’s back to work tonight, and I better get a few more hours of sleep… Toodles!
