Monday on a Sunday

I should seriously hit the sack. Sunday is the new Monday and I have to get back to work in a few hours.

Work.

I can think of so many other things to do on a Sunday:

  • Go to Church (haven’t attended Sunday Mass in a looooong time)
  • Photo Shoot
  • Sleep
  • Bake flourless chocolate cake (or learn to)
  • Meet up with a friend or two
  • Get on my iPad

That last one is a BIG threat. Hahaha. I must stay away from the iPad unless I really want to be a zombie at work tomorrow due to lack of sleep. πŸ˜€

This weekend was a good one. I had an afternoon with my girlfriends, there was some drama, yes, but I had a wonderful time catching up. After picking up the iPad on Saturday (again thanks to my cousin who bought it for me from the Apple SG store, and her friend who carried it home), I also got to drop by to see another girlfriend who wasn’t able to join us on Friday). We had a super brief chat because my dad was waiting in the car for me, and she was having her nails done at The Barbershop in Project 4. Β I realized later that I should’ve just asked Dad to leave me there so I could get a foot spa; I could have taken a cab home anyway.

But in a few hours, I have to face work again, and I’d have to focus. We’ll see if I’d be able to accomplish much on my first work day for the week. The soonest I can get things done, the more time I have and less pressure to finish by the end of the week. The good thing about working directly with agents again is getting to talk to them about their plans, and for some, even their hopes and dreams. Learning about their background and what they like doing outside of work, or what they intend to do with their lives, is something I look forward to. Knowing their motivations takes a lot of time, but as managers we need to have an idea. I was talking to one agent last week and was surprised to hear that he studied to be a nurse. If he gets tired of the call center industry, he can switch to healthcare jobs. He doesn’t seem interested at this time though, because he’ll have to do volunteer work at first and re-train before he can get a paying job. Oh well.

So I gotta go sleep, while there’s still time for it. πŸ™‚

My iPad is here

I am typing this via my iPad, woohoo! I finally received it today. I don’t have much installed yet, I will get to that tomorrow.

No pictures yet.

Run for Hope

This Sunday, there will be a fundraising fun run for Jon Angelo’s Breathe Hope campaign. I would so love to go, but I have work that day from 5am.

But if you have time, and you’d like to run for fitness, and help at the same time, do Run for Hope!

Check out Jon’s Facebook page to get in touch with his Mommy Tet. πŸ™‚

Tuesday Couch Potatoes: Brad Pitt in Meet Joe Black

For the first time, I’m joining in with TCP!

With a Brad Pitt theme, how could I NOT join? My all-time favorite? There’s actually two of them. The first one is The Mexican with Julia Roberts. The boyfriend and I have a favorite quote from the movie that we kept passing along to each other each time we switched phones.

“If two people love each other, but they just can’t seem to get it together. When do you say (or when do you get to the point where) enough is enough?” “Never”

But this TCP post is for: Meet Joe Black!

I just can’t ever get tired of watching this movie. Brad’s smiles can melt you on the spot! πŸ™‚

It’s the story of William Parrish (Hopkins), a media tycoon, who finds out that he is about to die. How does he know? The grim reaper himself, borrowing a young man’s body and calling himself Joe Black, has come to get him. But Joe, for once, gave Mr. Parrish time to set his affairs in order. He was given time to prepare for his death.

How many of us would get such a gift? Not many. Mr. Parrish was very rich, apart from his companies that will continue to run and earn for his family even after his death, he probably has a huge insurance too. I’ve no doubt that years before he even started getting sick, his advisers have already compare term life insurance plans for him to pick out the best one. Unfortunately for many of us, we are ill prepared. Maybe we don’t have the resources to prepare for how our family will survive after we pass away. But more than taking care of the finances, the other aspects are more difficult to prepare for.

For Bill Parrish, he was more concerned about his daughters and making sure they are in a good place in their lives as he goes away. That’s more important than any fortune he has.

But the movie is not morbid at all, it’s not all about death. It’s also about finding love in the most uncommon circumstances. Before the grim reaper took possession of his body as Joe Black, the young man had a chance encounter with Susan (Claire Forlani), Bill’s youngest daughter. They had a connection, and almost could not walk away from each other. Sadly, that’s what actually led to the young man’s temporary death. Imagine her surprise when he showed up for dinner.

Imagine the grim reaper falling in love. And not being greedy enough to take Susan’s life too. And to bringing the real person who owned the body back from the dead, so they can continue with the love story. I wonder if they do fall in love?

Anyway, go see the movie yourself if you Β haven’t yet. πŸ™‚

Badodong.Com Reloaded!

Badodong.Com, the boyfriend’s blog is being renovated. I finally purchased a subscription to Elegant Themes and because the boyfriend wants to turn the blog into a photoblog or online folio, the first theme to be put to the test would be ePhoto. I’ve set it up at his blog, so go on ahead an check it out in its default settings.

I’ve yet to tweak the SEO settings, along with the ads, and I haven’t changed the blog header/logo because I’ll need his input for that. Better yet, why don’t I just ask him to design his own logo, no? πŸ™‚ There will be more tweaks yet before the blog is fully relaunched.

We could have completed this earlier, but I was having connectivity issues on the laptop, and the boyfriend was busy with SC2 on the PC. Maybe he should have an SC2 background on there. Hmm..
